  1. If, as verse 13 says, sin isn’t charged to the account of those who didn’t have the law, what happened to all the people who died before the Law was given to Moses? Were they condemned? Can you find any scripture to back your answer?
  2. What does, “in the likeness of Adam’s transgression,” mean in verse 14? Can you think of an example of someone who did sin in the likeness of Adam’s transgression?
  3. In verses 15-16 Paul reflects on the power of the gift being greater than that of the sin. What is ‘the gift?’ Explain in your own words what Paul is saying.
  4. How many times is the word reign(ed) used in this passage? Who or what is reigning? Describe the contrast that Paul is making.
  5. Through the grace of Christ and his gift of righteousness, we reign over sin. What does this mean practically in our lives? Are there any sins you are struggling with? Meditate on these scriptures and the power of Christ in your life.
