Please pray for understanding and answer the following questions.
- Wives write out five practical applications in your marriage of verse 18. Husbands write out five practical applications of verse 19.
- Explain any areas that you might be ignoring your children’s disobedience.
- Exasperate: “to cause someone to react in a way that suggests acceptance of a challenge, arouse, provoke.” The definition of exasperate hints at the fact that a father’s prideful struggle with his child will might cause the child to respond with bitterness, discouragement or aggression. How do we prevent this? Do you have any examples from your own life?
- We can apply the slave-master relationship to employees and employers. Explain a specific challenge you might have in holding up verse 22 in your work life. Explain how you might specifically apply these verses to that situation.
- Verses 23-25 speak about fearing the Lord instead of fearing men. What actions can you take to help you remember that you ultimately stand before Him and not any person or court? (i.e. Post scripture, memorize scripture, hang a photo, etc.)
