Please pray for understanding and answer the following questions.
1. The wording here in verse 24 might be confusing. Paul uses the exact same phrase in Philippians 2:30. Read Philippians 2:25-30 and figure out what’s happening there. Use that understanding to explain what Paul means in Colossians 1:24.
2. Paul considered himself a servant to the church, appointed by God for a very specific purpose. What was that purpose? (verses 25-27)
3. Do you think that each of us should consider ourselves the church’s servants? Which passage of Scripture do you think sheds light on this?
4. Read 2 Corinthians 3:7-18. What light does this shed on “Christ in You, the Hope of Glory”?
5. Explain how verse 28 applies in your life. Where does “all wisdom” come from? (Read 1 Corinthians 1:26-31.)
6. Paul said that he works with God’s strength that is working in him. Can you relate to this? If so, tell of a time that you experienced this. Consider what Paul is working for and evaluate whether this is something you can say that you strive for in your life.
