  1. Chapter 12 begins a discussion of practical applications for life. It comes on the heels of chapters 9-11 which is thick theology informing us about God’s complete sovereignty in salvation and our inability to earn his favor. Why is this such an important foundation and motivation for this passage? What might a “sacrifice” look like if it didn’t have this foundation?
  2. List out some very practical examples of applying verse 1 to your life. Why is this very physical and practical activity called “spiritual worship”?
  3. List Scriptures that inform us on how we can renew our mind as verse 2 calls us to. What’s the best way that you could commit to renewing your mind more regularly?
  4. Based on verse 3 in what ways do you think more highly of yourself than you ought? Based on this passage and other Scriptures, how can you counteract these thoughts Biblically?
  5. What does verse 6 mean by “the standard of one’s faith” and what does it have to do with prophecy?
