Prayerfully read the passage and then answer the following questions:
- Why is “death” so important in this passage? What point is Paul making?
- In verse 3 Paul says that we are “baptized into His death.” How is this possible? And What are the practical implications in our life? Col. 2:12
- How or by what does verse 4 say that Christ was raised from the dead? What does this phrase mean? What else does this phrase apply to in that verse? (Consider John 11:38-44)
- Is the resurrection Paul speaks of in verse 5 spiritual or physical? (See Eph. 2:4-7, Col. 2:12 & 3:1)
- What does verse 10 mean when it says “He lives to God?” And why is it so important in Paul’s argument?
- Describe what Paul means when he correlates our bodies as “weapons for unrighteousness” and “weapons for righteousness.”
