Today we are celebrating FREEDOM for a 20-year-old girl in Thailand! Thank you for your partnership with A21 and for making these victories possible.
This brave survivor was first trafficked at the young age of 10. She was initially rescued during a police raid, but a family member took advantage of her vulnerability and trafficked her a second time.
She is now free once more. With assistance from A21, she is able to live in a safe place and take care of her two-week-old baby.
Additionally, the trial to prosecute her trafficker is currently underway. We are honored to play a small part in her journey to safety and a new life.
A survivor has also been rescued in South Africa! A young girl, promised the opportunity to study, was tricked and held in domestic servitude for two years. She is now safe and taking her first brave steps towards a life of freedom. Domestic servitude is one of the five forms of trafficking, and often includes severe beatings and limited contact with the outside world.
