Please pray for understanding and answer the following questions.
1. When Paul talks about his “struggle” or “conflict” in verse 1, he is using the same word as “the good fight” in 2 Timothy 4:7. Explain what he means in verse 1 by his “struggle” as best you can. If you find this statement convicting or challenging (as I do) explain how it challenges you.
2. In verse 2, Love is a unifying force. Also read Colossians 3:14 and Philippians 2:1-4. Explain one way that you have witnessed the unifying power of God’s love in your life.
3. In verse 2, Paul mentions the “riches of full assurance.” How does this verse reflect Colossians 1:27? Where does this assurance come from?
4. In verse 3, we’re told that ALL treasures of wisdom & knowledge are in Jesus! Then in verse 4 Paul states that his motivation in saying that is to guard us against deceptive, persuasive arguments. What arguments have you faced in life that are contradictory to the truth in verse 3?
5. If Paul were to write this letter to you, would he be able to write verse 5? If not, what in your life needs to be worked on?
